OSCARS '82: Annie

It’s rare when an iconic movie musical also happens to be one of the more bizarre watching experiences in our show, and then even more rare when the movie kind of works. Which this movie does…kind of. Look, this was a pretty legendary failure, and yet with every single thing going against it, this movie is so consistently bonkers it actually manages to pull out of its tailspin. A lot of that has to do with the phenomenal, immensely talented cast who squeeze every bit of potential enjoyment out of this movie. Just don’t expect a lot, even from a legendary Hollywood director - he was too busy drinking and ignoring the film. Oscars '82 continues this week with Annie on Macintosh & Maud Haven’t Seen What?!
